SPELLCHECKERS IN 2 SENEGAMBIAN LANGUAGES DONE!

In Vox Humanitatis we started to gather people in different language groups a couple of years ago. Now I am so happy to inform all of you that the first  versions of the spellcheckers for Senegambian languages Diola Fogny (dyo) and Diola Kasa (csk) are done! Fogny spellchecker has almost 20 000 entries  and Kasa has more than 15 000 entries. Spellcheckers are working in Firefox now.

The road to get these spellcheckers has been really hard but also great fun. It needed great devotion from the Vox Humanitatis Diola Fogny team and Diola Kasa team. Also the practical coding part was essential. It was done by Kevin Scannell from University of Saint Louis, USA.

We are very happy to inform you all of this great step ahead in the life of these two languages. This day when we publish these spellcheckers is UNESCO's International Mother Language Day and we wish you all happy moments with your mother languages!

And I wish to say thank you for my friends Bina Meusl and Bèrto d'Sera for their caring and energy in this long way we had from the starting point until now! And to my husband Ismaila Sané I wish to say - Thank you Mouta for teaching me and your children your native tongue and being who you are! Being honest, modest and still proud of the roots is the best heritage a man can give to children.
