There are several occasions during the year we can use to do something for our languages and literacy. Of course literacy starts from children. One of the first books with written words most children hold in their hands are ABC-Books. But many will never have this for their language. We can at least change something: we can make free material available. We will change things one drop at a time.
You will get access to a google document for now where you will have various columns, among others
There may be more than one target language in one document.
Please add your name or shortcut in the column after the translation inserted or edited. If you don't have a shortcut, please let me know which one you would like to use. Below a list of already used shortcuts.
Using tools for translators, you will come in touch with a number of terms that, even if a translation exists, are mainly used in English by most translators throughout the world.
This page is a work in progress:
Fuzzy or Fuzzy Match
Translations and localizations, also so-called cultural localizations, will be found on our way over and over again. Therefore we are opening a section where we will start to write up and insert links re. what we find useful or answer questions we already know. If you have questions that refer to this sector, may it be about tecniques, software, tools, what to translate, where to start etc. Please just send a message to info [at] voxhumanitatis [dot] org.
Vox Humanitatis works in various projects, partnering with universities and/or associations or just internal projects. We also support external related projects whenever possible.
As a consequence of our no double effort internal guideline, building alliances and partnerships has become possibly our most important field of activity.
The quantity of world-wide ongoing efforts is simply amazing, both in variety and quality. It's a pity that very often such efforts simply aren't aware of each other. We try our best to help increasing the inter-communication degree and you can help us do better. Please tell us about your projects!
